That I realize the ways of
Badragiri (2) and Pattinathar (1)
Who renounced wealth and world
With attachment none behind.

[1] A merchant Prince born (Circe 11th century A.D.) in
Kaverippum Pattinam. He renounced the world, turned Saint
and attained Samadhi in Thiruvottiyur near Madras.
[2] A Royal disciple of Pattinathar, also renounced the
world and turned Saint. Both sang in praise of Siva,
emphasizing the transitoriness of the worldly existence.
