HOMESICK
Oh, people
I am homesick
where is the land
I have seen in a dream?
I go forth in the morning
and greet all I meet
freely
for I know there will be
no rejection
When there is need
the fulfillment comes
without stoppage
without delay or detour
from the wellsprings
of love
Each day everyone
sits in contentment
living his own life
in his rightful place
with pride and dignity
Oh, I am homesick
We need to develop
new senses
to come to our senses
we are blind,
and deaf,
and colliding with our world
We need eyes that see
the beauty in our brother's face
We need ears that hear
the music in our sisters voice
We need hearts that feel
the pain in a child's heart
Oh, I am homesick
Why do we cling to our pain?
It need not be.
Is hate so sweet?
Is fear so comfortable?
Come sisters
Come brothers
Let us go home
